Our latest support group which took place on Saturday April 28, 2012  was well attended and our patients are gaining much support from each other. On Wednesday April 18, 2012 the first Advanced Reader’s Edition of 3000 Pulses was printed at the Brooklyn Public Library.  It is currently receiving final editing  before the first printing.  Martha and I are hoping to present the book at the American Psychiatric Association Meeting next month in Philadelphia. TMS Center of the Hudson Valley welcomes Virginia Coleman CSW-R who will join our staff on April 15, 2012 to spearhead our TMS psychotherapy program. Ginny has over 30 years of clinical experience as both a psychotherapist and supervising clinical social worker. Ginny was astounded by the improvement of patients that she observed and wanted to join our center to help patients with severe depression benefit from TMS and psychotherapy. We believe that combining TMS with individual and group psychotherapy provides an important synergy that will help patients through the process of treatment and recovery. We had 16 people attend our TMS support group on March 24, 2012.  There was much sharing of common experiences as patients who are thinking about starting TMS, those who are currently under treatment and those who have completed treatment participated.  Our next support group will be on April 28, 2012 from 1 pm-2:30 pm at our Poughkeepsie office. Dr. Pardell welcomes Susan Caprara as our TMS technician at our Saratoga Site. We are beginning treating patients at our Saratoga site beginning Sunday March 18, 2012.

Dr. Pardell completed the one day course in Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in Neuropsychiatric Research held at  the Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center affiliated with Harvard University in Boston Massachusetts on March 17, 2012. Dr. Pardell also has developed a consulting relationship with Dr. Kimberly Cress of Sugarland, Texas. They have participated in both fellowship seminars at Harvard and have shared their expertise on TMS and tDCS treatments.  Dr. Pardell looks forward to their continued collegial affiliation.

Dr. Pardell and Martha Rhodes filmed a Health News segment on Friday February 17, 2012 at our Saratoga site. Marcie Frasier interviewed  both Dr. Pardell and Martha discussing clinical depression, TMS treatment, Bring Hope Promotion and provided insight into their upcoming book 3000 Pulses.  YNN filmed Dr. Pardell providing a TMS treatment for Martha.  The segment will be aired next weekend on YNN News throughout New York State and other regions across the country.

On October 14, 2011, Riverview Psychiatric Medicine, PC welcomed Elizabeth Mastro NP-P as our latest addition to our clinical team. Elizabeth is a nurse practitioner in psychiatry who provides psychiatric services to adolescents and adults.

On October 13, 2011 Dr. Pardell traveled down to Gainesville,, Florida and provided an update on TMS therapy to psychiatrists and mental health clinicians.

On October 12, 2011 Dr. Pardell lectured at Mount Saint Mary’s College to the Department of Psychology on “Medication Therapy for Treatment of Adolescents and Young Adults.”

TMS Center of the Hudson Valley on 10/3/11  welcomed Joseph Kruk as our new TMS Technician.

Dr. Pardell and Martha Rhodes (our TMS Advocate) lectured to the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Society on September 28, 2011 in Poughkeepsie updating the local psychiatrist on the latest research on TMS.  Dr. Pardell announced that the TMS Center of the Hudson Valley will be opening their second office in Fishkill, NY bringing TMS to the lower Dutchess County Region.

Dr. Pardell met with Bruce Shook CEO of Neuronetics on 9/8/11 to discuss the future of TMS in the Hudson Valley.

Dr. Pardell lectured to physicians about TMS therapy  in Jackson, Mississippi; Sarasota, Florida; Detroit, Michigan,  Rochester, NY and Vineland NJ this summer.

Dr. Pardell attending Neurostar TMS Educational Conference on 9/16/11 where he met with Mark Demitrak MD Chief Medical Officer of Neuronetics. They discussed the future of Neurostar TMS therapy. Dr. Pardell met with Mary Healy the head of reimbursement to determine the future of insurance reimbursement for TMS therapy.
